in which I celebrate my birthday...

Today is my 16th birthday...so exciting! More to come on that in another post.... Anyway, for many confusing reasons, I had to have my party a few weeks early. So Monday last week, we had a big party to celebrate! It was the best party I have ever had.
For weeks, I spent so much time and energy planning everything from location and food to games and teams. There was one thing I didn't count on though, after planning an outdoor party, and that was rain. Yes, it poured that day so we had to change everything. Yet, it still went really well and I had so much fun!

Originally, we were spending the day at the park and I had a photo scavenger hunt written as well as a few other activities. Then on the morning of the party, we had to change. Frantically, we wrote a new photo scavenger hunt that could be done at the local shopping center. We were going to do that, then ferry everyone back to our house for the rest of the time.

The scavenger hunt was so fun. Divided into four teams, we had a list of photos and had to do as many as we could in an hour. We took the most hilarious photos ever! There were so many challenges or poses to photograph and some included asking strangers to join in...

 The Teams:

Maheem Team
Their team name was all their initials put together.

The A Team

Team Awesome

Team Blue Clouds
For once the team with the birthday girl won!!

Here's just a taste of the fun and craziness involved...

all doing the can-can

One photo was all your team in the air at once...Toyota Jump! It's actually a lot harder than it sounds...

whole team on one bench

YMCA in the food court. That was rather embarrassing...

I guess you  more call this one ACMY :)

team posing as buskers

team with a mannequin wearing hot pink

whole team on an escalator

One challenge was re-enacting a famous painting, with extra points if the judges could guess what painting it was. Any ideas what these two are??

This challenge was to act out a scene from Shakespeare... such fun!

from Romeo and Juliet
from Hamlet

The last challenge was to take the craziest photo you could. Several teams tried...

But this one won...bet you can guess why. Crazy or what?!?!

And here's my awesome cake. It says 'Happy Birthday India'.

I had such fun and am so grateful to all my friends for coming, especially those who came all the way from Brisbane. This is a party I will remember forever!

Dear Suzanne Collins,
You are amazing, coming up with this story. I love it to pieces and the movie was just as wonderful. Thank you.
Sincerely, me.

Dear Imogen, Anwyn and Lara,
Thanks for the fun times, going together to the movie we all loved. And thanks for the wonderful discussions afterward about every little detail. :)
Sincerely, me.

Dear Katniss,
You were perfect. Absolutely perfect. Just how I imagined you'd be.
Everything, from the look on your face as you sung to Rue and picked flowers to cover her, to the way you shot Cato's hand was wonderful.  I love you, girl on fire!
Sincerely, me.

Dear Peeta,
You are such a great character. I loved your interview with Caesar so much, and your camouflage was incredible. The way you always protect Katniss is so beautiful. I loved you!

Dear Gale,
I nearly cried for you, as you watched Katniss and Peeta together.  I'm sorry for you, but remember, it saved Catnip's life. Please know though, you were always my favourite out of you and Peeta.
Sincerely, me.

Dear Effie,
You. Are. Amazing. So sorry you missed out on this line though.

Dear Haymitch,
You didn't get to fall off the stage, but I still thought you were awesome. Really loved you!

Dear Cinna,
Only you could pull off gold eyeliner so well. Your designs for Katniss's dresses were clever and gorgeous. You are so good!
Sincerely, me.

Dear Rue,
Oh, I think your death was the saddest scene of the whole movie. Thank you for helping Katniss and for being just so wonderful. You were my favourite tribute not from district twelve.
Sincerely, me.

Dear Seneca Crane,
Your beard = awesome. That's all.

Dear other people at the movie theatre,
Why were we the only ones left at the end of the credits? Didn't you want to see that amazing movie to the very end? Plus, poor you, you missed Safe and Sound. :(
